Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate Serum

When I first heard of Ultimune in 2014, one word struck me: immunity. The product is designed to strengthen the natural immunity of our skin against daily aggressions and the environment. For example, to better defend against the harmful effects of pollutants and UV rays. It’s like “prevention is better than a cure. It would be best to start as early as possible before the signs of aging appear.

Now the serum is getting better in its new and improved form. Here’s the gist. In addition to the original Ultimune Complex ™, there is now ImuGeneration ™, which includes antioxidant-rich reishi mushrooms and iris root, which not only strengthens our skin’s immune system but also hydrates the complexion and visibly reduces the signs of aging. Our skin is stronger, healthier, smoother, and firmer at the same time.

1. What is the Product About?

Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusion Concentrate, an award-winning regenerating and fortifying serum, preserves the skin’s natural immunity against aging and damage.

The serum repairs and strengthens the skin’s immunity from the inside out. This powerful serum targets Langerhans cells, which keep the skin healthy and free from damage. It can improve the immunity of skin and help it to support the aging process. The formula has a complex mixture of perilla, ginkgo Biloba, wild thyme, lotus, and rose, which provides a pleasant aroma and antioxidant properties.

The recommended use of this product is as a daily skincare ritual. Use twice a day, evening and morning, to balance and cleanse the skin. With regular use, the skin appears firmer, more radiant, and smoother.

2. How does it work?

It is recommended to place two pumps on the palm of your hand before applying them evenly. This is exactly what I did in the morning and evening. You can also think of this as a primary serum if you are using other serums in your skincare regimen – primarily use them before other serums as they will increase the effectiveness of your subsequent skincare products.

What is Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate made of?

This product consists of the following main ingredients:

  1. Methylparaben – This is a synthetic compound from the benzoate family.

It is an antimicrobial preservative used to prevent or control microbial growth in the final product.

There are conservation issues, but there is still a lot to explore. They are known to cause side effects, but they are less dangerous than dyes and perfumes. I will be going for this one more when I go to college!!

  1. Linalool – A fragrance naturally present in many essential oils

This can irritate sensitive skin.

  1. Tocopheryl acetate – a chemical compound made up of acetic acid and tocopherol (vitamin E)

Skin conditioning and antioxidants.

  1. Glycerin – Glycerin is known as a moisturizer that draws moisture to the surface.

When looking at the ingredients, it comes close to alcohol, often used to help products dry faster.

It is effective, but it can also cause moisture loss. I wonder if this is the reason why we take such concentrated glycerol.

The concentrate also contains moisturizing and nourishing ingredients that add hydration and comfort to the skin. However, I recommend applying your skincare regimen, followed by a serum and moisturizer.

What are the Pros and Cons?

Pros

These days, it’s all about layers of skincare products, and this hydrating serum is the perfect first step. It’s refreshing and cool if you swirl it around and dry it until silky in about ten seconds.

The delicate white liquid can come from a can of Zico (resembling coconut water) and has a slight floral scent that protects against free radicals responsible for wrinkles, hydrates, and strengthens the skin’s natural moisture barrier.

I would say this could be good if you live in heavily polluted cities or if your job requires you to be outside often. The texture is light and penetrates quickly into the skin. The leather is damp with no residue or heavy coating.

Cons

It is not a serum. So don’t expect it to feel the same after use. I use vitamin C treatment and always do so with a serum because it doesn’t offer the same moisturizing properties. After all, it’s a treat!

Another problem I saw was the alcohol content. Second, on the list, it has a higher bulk than the other ingredients. Some suffer from tenderness and dryness. It may not relate to a single ingredient and linalool or perfume, or products used previously, and a lack of products afterward. It’s hard.

It is always difficult to know the cause of skin irritation or the side effects.

My Final Thought

Now, I am sometimes very skeptical of skincare reviews because it is hard to tell if something will work in a week. Is makeup good, or do we say cleansers but serums? They are a bit complicated. But ok, the warning is off. Do I recommend it? Yeah!

I tried it for about three weeks, starting with a dehydrated, off-balance skin tone from my beach vacation. It’s not completely broken, of course, but not the healthy, normal skin condition I’m used to.

My sunspots were also noticeably more visible. But I stayed with Ultimune morning and night and didn’t change anything else in my routine.

What happened was my skin got better – it felt more balanced and well hydrated, besides not having that horrible oily patch and dry skin everywhere else, and that alone to me. I made it happier with my skin. The pigment pockets I had were also less noticeable.

I have also received unwanted compliments, even unexpected ones, from a guy who, unfortunately, couldn’t say why other than looking “healthier” and less pale. I assumed my skin was brighter with this healthy blush and noticed a natural, hydrated glow as well.

Granted, I don’t think this should be described as a quick fix, and I think it’s a bit pricey. On the other hand, we should be prepared to invest a little more in skincare. However, one bottle is sufficient for a reasonable period; I’m not in the middle of my bottle yet.

If you are looking for an all-purpose serum/serum that addresses a range of skin issues, such as dullness, dryness, and less elastic skin, this is what you should look for, as it improves your skin’s health and natural abilities. Even if you have a specific problem, you can always use another serum afterward.
